Angel Financing: Investing in the Biosciences
Seed financing is particularly relevant to the many emerging bioscience companies, and the ability to access angel investors is key to early-stage success. This panel is meant to highlight why local angel investors should consider opportunities in the life sciences community, while seasoned investors provide insights about the promises and challenges of investing in a start-up bioscience company.

Keys to Unlocking Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Funding
The U.S. government is a key source of non-dilutive financing for early-stage technology development and corporate growth. This panel will explore the pitfalls of the SBIR/STTR application process while highlighting the advantages of accessing grant funds.

For new therapeutics and diagnostics, the FDA regulated clinical trial process is a significant and expensive barrier to market entry. Human Resources Track will earn HR Certification Institute (HRCI) credits. The HR Certification Institute (HRCI), an affiliate of The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), provides Human Resources professionals with PHR, GPHR, and SPHR certifications. Certification credit documentation will be provided to the attendees at the conclusion of each session.

Certification credits will be earned according to the following schedule:
• One session: 1.5 credit hours
• Full day (three sessions): 4.5 credit hours
